We are presently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Manager for our clients in Tralee, County Kerry. You will be responsible for coordinating design, procurement, and installation of mechanical systems in a pharma plant. You will manage schedules, budgets, and contractors, ensuring HVAC, piping, and utilities meet GMP standards while supporting commissioning, validation, and overall project delivery goals.
Responsibilities
- Control all aspects of selected projects including planning, budgeting, and scheduling of projects from conception to completion.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure that all projects meet client specifications.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Manage the financial aspects of each project, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, codes, and standards, including health and safety regulations.
- Ensure structures are put in place to monitor, review and control the budgeted or agreed expenditure.
- Work closely with the Directors and Site Managers to support and recommend strategies, to identify any potential risks or issues and to find an appropriate resolution.
- Issue weekly progress reports to the client and engineering manager.
- Issue monthly progress reports for Senior Management/Directors.
Candidate Requirements
- A mechanical background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Project / Contracts Manager in the construction industry with a background as a mechanical project engineer.
- Experience with an MEP engineering contractor or Main Contractor on Life Science, Semi-Conductor or Data Centre projects required.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC and Process systems, including their design, installation, and operation.
- Must be able to travel within Europe on occasion.
- A full driving license.
