Fred McDonogh

With over 20 years HR & Recruitment experience, Fred McDonogh is a technology recruiter first and foremost. He has lead two of Ireland’s successful recruitment businesses over the last 20 years. After selling his 1st recruitment company, he then opened Red Chair Recruitment in Killarney & Dublin. Red Chair Recruitment is a specialist in delivering great talent across the Technology, Education, Finance, HR, Medical and Sales Markets.


Fred’s reputation as a recruitment expert has been earned over many years placing individuals in challenging roles with precision, absolute discretion and high service levels. He has been a committee member and holds a Fellowship of the National Recruitment Federation for over 6 years. He is also co-founder of the Kerry Expo that has grown year on year to become the largest gathering for businesses in Kerry with over 9K visitors and 125 exhibitors.

Achieving one of his personal goals recently, Fred trekked with one of the world’s most experienced explorers, Mike O’Shea, in Nepal to the dizzy heights of Mount Everest Base Camp and Beyond. Fundraising & helping to open a school in remote Nepal for 600+ children while he was there.

Adrien King

I am responsible for the international sector at Red Chair Recruitment. I collaborate with clients across the globe and develop valuable and influential links in key territories. This collaboration has given me an important opportunity to continue to learn and grow my skill-set in this fascinating sector.

My work with different cultures has taught me to fully understand my client’s requirements. I actively seek teachers, instructors and lecturers with a natural ability to empower their students and develop their skills to benefit my clients.

Tony McPoland

I am proud to be the Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Red Chair Recruitment. I have decades of experience in the elite financial and banking sectors. My experience ensures that Red Chair Recruitment is capable of providing the best services for a competitive fee. Because of my numerous connections in the finance industry, I am able to secure exclusive contracts and supply Ireland’s best candidates.



Daragh McDonogh

I am the Head of Client Solutions and undertake re-engineering end-to-end processes for new solutions, supporting the roll-out of a service into a new location and performing data analysis on information gathered during a programme.

I am passionate about developing client/supplier communications, managing suppliers and contractors during the course of a transition/migration programme, devising training schedules and supporting the execution of all required training to new teams. It’s the best job in the business and I’m delighted I get to do it with the clients and colleagues we have.


Zack Birdthistle

I come from a strong customer service and management back ground and I always utilize these skills in my every day dealings with clients and candidates.

The diversity and everyday challenges that come with the world of recruitment is what lets me enjoy working with a broad range of markets and some great people, in turn this has led me to have a deep understanding of key market sectors and regions.  I favour a simple approach for my candidates as well: To help obtain the right career move under the right terms.


Maura Byrne

Maura Byrne is managing partner of Your Business Smart Coach, a consultancy firm offering Executive Coaching, Leadership Development Training and Psychometrics (Personality Testing). Smart Coach essentially develops people and helps in CV, Presentation, Job Search and Interview Preparation.

Maura works with senior executives on their career transitions through goal alignment and action planning. She provides leadership training to companies developing their talented executives for roles in senior management and on executive boards.

Padraig McAllister

I studied Business Administration and gained my Honours Degree in Cork Institute of Technology, unsure which way to take my career, I decided to travel around South East America for 6 months before I took a 12-month project working within an office in Mid-Kerry. After this contract I was asked to attended an interview in Red Chair Killarney and the rest is history. I was drawn to the world of recruitment, the diverse and challenging environment motivated me and I jumped at the chance to work with the team. I am here on the graduate programme learning a new trade in recruitment.

I am passionate about my work and always use all my strengths to ensure I met the requirements of this industry. I feel with my personal & professional approach, I have what it takes to enable me to help others find  the right career path.


Pa O'Grady

An enthusiastic Marketing Student that is self motivated and goal driven.


Throughout my studies in Cork Institute of Technology I have obtained a vast variety of knowledge and skills in Digital Advertising and Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Marketing Research Methods, Advertising and Promotions and how to bring an advertising campaign to life.

Neil Buckley

Three years with Red Chair Recruitment and I am now responsible for all Hospitality, Medical and Sales Recruitment here. I myself come from 10 years within Hotel Management and 8 years within Sales. Paul O’Shea

I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (C.I.M.A).

I have spent the past ten years in senior management roles primarily in the hospitality industry. Prior to this I held a number of senior financial positions in both multinational and blue chip companies. These companies ranged in industry from FMCG, Retail and Media.

Over the years, I have become acutely aware of the importance of human resources to any successful organisation.

That is why I am so delighted to be part of the team here at Red Chair where our mission is to match the best candidate with our valued and loyal clients.


Joe Howell

I have explored a lot of the UK and Ireland, experiencing many factions of the working world and earning a degree in performance studies on the way. These experiences have made me a great communicator and given me a passion for meeting people of all walks of life. Choosing recruitment as a path has made this possible on a daily base.


Paying close attention to people’s goals and aspirations, I take great pride in leading people to what they want to achieve in their professional career. Cristia Dan

I have been working with Daragh in Red Chair Recruitment for over 2 years now, I have been given the opportunity to finally relocate to Ireland again and have been tasked with managing our resource & training sector. My speciality is building commercial relationships across multiple sites at a national level, and I am excited to accept my new role as Commercial Client Relationship Manager with Red Chair in our office in Dublin, while also maintain a presence in our Kerry & Cork Offices.

Having been in the market for over 20 years I have an in depth understanding of how to achieve my business/life goals. This experience has given me the resources to greatly help Red Chair Recruitment from their start-up over 2 years ago to where they are now as one of Irelands premier recruitment companies, who’s unique approach to the market  is entirely different to their competition.
