We are seeking a motivated and technically competent Graduate / Junior Civil Engineer to join a multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering team based in Macroom, County Cork. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design, analysis, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, industrial, and public sector developments. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and project teams, gaining valuable hands-on experience in both office-based design and on-site project support. This is a permanent position, based in Office in County Cork,
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage, and infrastructure systems
- Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports
- Support project delivery from concept through to completion
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys as required
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders under supervision
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and coordination activities
- Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and cost estimates
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of core civil engineering principles
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar)
- Full, clean driving licence (due to site visit requirements)
- Previous internship or placement experience in civil engineering
- Knowledge of Irish/UK design standards and regulations
- Familiarity with drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage)
