Our clients are presently recruiting a Chartered Engineer to join a multidisciplinary civil and structural engineering team based in Macroom, County Cork. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the design, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of civil & Structural engineering projects across commercial, industrial, and public sector developments. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to take responsibility for project outcomes from concept through to completion. This is a permanent position, with office and site based work required, mainly in County Cork.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and technical delivery of civil engineering projects, including roads, drainage, and infrastructure systems
- Review, approve, and sign off on engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports
- Manage projects from feasibility through planning, design, and construction stages
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Ensure all work complies with relevant Irish standards, regulations, and best practices
- Undertake and oversee site visits, inspections, and progress assessments
- Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates within the team
- Contribute to business development, including preparing tenders and proposals
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Level 8 or higher)
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng), accredited by Engineers Ireland
- Minimum 5+ years’ relevant post-graduate experience
- Strong technical knowledge of civil / Structural engineering design and project delivery
- Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, drainage design tools)
- Full, clean driving licence
