We are presently recruiting for a Senior Estimator for our clients in Charleville, County Cork. This office-based position will play a key role in the pre-construction and tendering process, providing accurate, timely and competitive cost estimates for a range of construction and commercial projects. Working closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, you will ensure projects are commercially viable, competitively priced, and aligned with client and regulatory requirements. This is a permanent, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions for construction and refurbishment projects.
- Carry out comprehensive quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Develop pre-construction cost plans, budgets, and cost models at various design stages.
- Manage the end-to-end tender process including pricing, clarifications, documentation, and submission.
- Prepare tender programme inputs and assist with bid strategy and value engineering proposals.
- Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist contractors.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, design and Surveying teams to ensure consistency between pre- and post-contract cost controls.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, contract conditions, and regulatory requirements to identify cost impacts.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar, Membership of SCSI/RICS is desirable
- 5+ years’ experience in estimating within construction, civil, commercial fit-out sectors in Ireland is essential.
- Proven track record producing accurate estimates for medium to large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, Irish building regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, Cubit, CostX, Excel, Bluebeam) is essential
- Full clean driver’s licence.
