Red Chair Recruitment are presently recruiting an Electrical Fitter to support electrical maintenance and operations for our clients in Limerick City. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing industrial electrical systems and machinery, including conveyors, shredders and other heavy industrial equipment. This is a permanent position with a Monday to Friday working week.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, test, and repair electrical systems and machinery, including conveyors, shredders, balers and sorters.
- Diagnose and repair faults in motors, MCCs, VFDs, PLC I/O, sensors, and safety circuits.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Assist with installation, upgrades, and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
- Follow strict health & safety procedures, including electrical isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work processes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Recognised Electrical Fitter/Electrician trade qualification.
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments; recycling or heavy industry preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of health & safety legislation and electrical regulations.
- Experience with PLCs, automation, VFDs, and MCCs.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification (or willingness to obtain).
