Kerry company Lee Strand launched their new Tetra Rex bio-based carton earlier this week, the world’s first fully renewable pack.
Lee Strand’s €2 million manufacturing investment will offer customers a pack that is 100 per cent renewable and recyclable and the revolutionary carton is recognised as a major step forward in the development of truly sustainable packaging, winning many prestigious international awards.
John O’Sullivan Lee Strand general manager, said there is a strong demand in the market for environmentally friendly packages and the new pack will offer customers a fully renewable carton and cap that is made from materials that can be traced back to their plant-based source.
“The pack is good for the environment and it offers customers a product they can hold in their hands and know that is it fully sourced from plant based materials. We are saving the planet one pack at a time – it is essentially the pack that grows back,” he stated.
To celebrate the brand new launch of Lee Strand’s new carton, customers will be given the chance to win a whopping €1,000 as Lee Strand and Radio Kerry will be calling at random to homes in Kerry from Monday, October 14 until Friday, November 1. If Lee Strand’s new 100 per cent renewable carton is in the fridge, they will win a hamper and all finalists will be in with a chance to win €1,000 at a live outside broadcast in Tralee on November 2.
Lee Strand has a strong commitment to environmental excellence and has achieved many awards and accreditations. Nominated by the Irish National Accreditation Board, the company has represented Ireland at the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme in Germany and it is also the only company in Ireland registered with the prestigious EMAS III accreditation.
