We are presently recruiting for a Strategic Purchaser for our clients, an engineering company in County Kerry. You will support existing business operations, focus on long-term synergies, market expansion, acquiring complementary products and services. You will work on overall business strategy, allowing for operational efficiencies, cost reductions and competitive advantages.
Responsibilities within post:
- Coordination of all activities related to Bespoke Engineering purchasing.
- Lead and develop and commodity and supplier strategies.
- Ensure availability of all components.
- Manage commodity and supplier identification.
- Create Requests for Quotation.
- Maintain MRP systems for new released items.
- Negotiate supplier agreements, price and conditions of supply.
- Manage supplier relationships.
- Analyse and optimise supplier portfolio on a continuous basis.
- Drive innovations and minimise procurement risks.
- Escalate claims and quality issues.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Third level education degree, ideally in an Engineering based topic.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in strategic purchasing is essential.
- Strong Supplier management/development and supplier audit skills.
