We are presently recruiting for a Senior Accountant /Assurance Manager to join our busy and growing accountancy practice in Tralee. This senior role involves overseeing assurance and accounting work, managing teams, and ensuring high-quality service delivery to a diverse client base. The successful candidate will work closely with the partners to manage workflow, support staff development, and ensure compliance with financial reporting and tax regulations. This is a permanent position, based in office in Tralee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a bookkeeping team and a trainee accountants’ team of approximately 10 staff, providing daily support, training, and mentoring.
- Supervise trainee accountants registered with Chartered Accountants Ireland, review training diaries, and conduct six-monthly reviews.
- Manage workflow and ensure trainees gain experience across bookkeeping and accountancy functions.
- Monitor payroll, VAT, and Revenue Commissioners deadlines for a large client portfolio.
- Review year-end company accounts to ensure compliance with company law and financial reporting standards.
- Meet with clients to review and agree income tax, corporation tax returns, and annual accounts.
- Authorise access to cloud-based systems including Bright Accounts Production and Xero.
- Support colleagues across offices and provide technical guidance to team members.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in accountancy practice.
- Strong leadership, client management, and organisational skills
