We are presently recruiting for a Safety Officer to join our civil engineering company in Douglas, Cork City. You will hold a minimum of two years previous experience and you will promote a culture of health, safety, and compliance across all construction projects. This is a full time, permanent position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance with Irish H&S legislation, company policies, and client requirements.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training to staff and contractors.
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Support project managers in developing method statements and safe systems of work.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation for regulatory audits.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all site operations.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline.
- NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent certification (essential).
- Minimum 2–3 years’ construction site experience.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
