Red Chair Recruitment are seeking a motivated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our clients in County Kerry. This position involves planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of civil engineering projects, including marine, port, and infrastructure works. The role requires a balance of office-based design and project planning with field-based site supervision to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and manage civil engineering projects from concept to completion
- Conduct site inspections, surveys, and assessments to ensure project compliance with specifications and regulations
- Prepare technical drawings, reports, and project documentation using CAD and engineering software
- Monitor construction activities, managing contractors and subcontractors to maintain quality and safety standards
- Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
- Identify and resolve technical issues on-site or during planning phases
- Support the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and schedules
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience in civil construction, ideally including marine or port infrastructure
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standards
- Proficiency in CAD and engineering software
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently on-site and collaboratively in the office environment
