Red Chair Recruitment are seeking an experienced and motivated Car Mechanic. You will join the team of a long-established, family-run business in Macroom with an excellent reputation for after-sales service. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment where high-quality workmanship and customer service are valued. As a Car Mechanic, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of mechanical tasks, from routine servicing to NCT preparation and fault diagnostics. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standard, contributing to the company’s strong reputation for reliability and trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles to identify repairs required and assess urgency.
- Provide accurate cost estimates for repair and maintenance work.
- Carry out servicing, repairs, recalls, and fault-finding on vehicles.
- Prepare vehicles for NCT and conduct tests as needed (including road tests).
- Source and order necessary parts using accessory databases.
- Maintain detailed records of all services, repairs and maintenance.
- Keep accurate work logs and update customer service histories.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a qualified Car Mechanic.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Strong technical and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
