We are presently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for our clients in Kerry. This position is responsible for manufacturing and quality engineering of low voltage heaters used in Electric Vehicles. Our Clients are  world leader in providing parts and components for the Automotive Industry.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support all manufacturing areas and product launch activities, with focus on Low Voltage heaters. You will be responsible for Identify and implement improvements with the manufacturing process   that will help reduce product cost, improve quality of product and increase customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will come from either a mechanical or Electrical Engineering background, have strong knowledge of PLC  (programmable logic controller) and excel at problem solving.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Ensure the maximum safety, quality, capability and utilization of manufacturing/processing equipment and processes
  • Direct and oversee the full lifecycle of a product’s manufacturing process, including design, construction, packaging and quality control
  • Devise and implement cost saving measures
  • Continuously research and implement “Best Practice” in regards to manufacturing
  • Facilitate new product introductions and current product modifications
  • Review production equipment and tools
  • Frequently test all equipment for safety and effectiveness
  • Ensure that effective documentation and control systems are fully maintained
  • Assist in the design and build of manufacturing/assembly/processing equipment and processes
  • Resolve issues through robust problem-solving processes, such as 8D’s and 5 Why’s
  • Coordinate or perform as needed, machining, process diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, calibrations and operating procedures
  • Coordinate and perform special studies
  • Review and make disposition on non-conforming materials
  • Prepare and make presentations to customers, employees and all levels of the management team
  • Achieve goals within your Production Team

Qualifications, experiences and salary

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or related engineering field preferred
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience required
  • Computer proficient; confident using data analysis programs and Microsoft Suite
  • Experience using PLC  (programmable logic controller)
  • Experience using CAD (computer aided design) and CAM (computer aided manufacturing) software a major plus
  • Effective management skills
  • Master problem solver familiar with root cause analysis techniques
  • Salary is open to negotiation and over €50,000
