We are recruiting for a Butcher to join our clients’ award-winning team in County Kerry. In this full-time, in-store Butcher role, you will help deliver a bespoke shopping experience while showcasing your butchery skills and passion for quality meats. Our clients value customer engagement, and you’ll excel with a friendly, outgoing personality and proven ability to interact effectively with customers. This role also requires strong management skills to oversee daily operations, coordinate with team members, and ensure smooth workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, and prepare a variety of meats, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, tailored to customer specifications.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of meat cuts, cooking methods, and storage techniques to maintain quality and freshness.
- Operate and maintain butchery equipment, including slicers, grinders, and saws, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage and organize the butchery section, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with meat selection, offering preparation advice, and fulfilling custom orders.
- Collaborate with store staff to manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and meet customer demands.
- Train and mentor junior staff members to maintain high standards of quality and service.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of two years in a similar role; trade qualifications are highly desirable.
- Strong management and organizational skills to oversee operations and lead a team.
- Attention to detail for precise portioning, packaging, and labeling.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
- Adaptability and efficiency in fast-paced environments, including availability for weekend and holiday shifts.
