We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our clients in Cork. The successful candidate will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
- Assist the Station Manager in leading, motivating, and managing a team of retail staff to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
- Train and develop staff members to ensure they have the necessary product knowledge, customer service skills, and operational capabilities.
- Create a positive and supportive work environment that fosters teamwork, accountability, and high performance.
- Support the Station Manager in driving sales and profitability by achieving sales targets and KPIs.
- Ensure that the shop provides an outstanding customer experience at all times.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and issues in a professional and efficient manner.
- Support the Store Manager in preparing and managing the shop budget, including sales targets, payroll, and expenses.
- Analyse sales figures and trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Implement cost-saving measures to maximise profitability.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role, preferably in a retail or petrol station environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Sound knowledge of retail management best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
