We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Electrician to join our client’s team in County Kerry, working on behalf of Irish Water under the Panel Inspection Framework. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the inspection, testing, maintenance, and minor upgrades of electrical panels and associated systems across Irish Water facilities. This is a permanent position offering structured learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist qualified electricians with routine and scheduled inspections of electrical panels in line with Irish Water standards.
- Support fault finding, basic diagnostics, and minor repairs on control panels, MCCs, and instrumentation systems.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and site safety requirements.
- Help complete inspection reports and documentation for each site visit.
- Work closely with site managers, Irish Water representatives, and team members to coordinate site access and tasks.
- Assist with commissioning and decommissioning activities when required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and PPE in good condition.
- Take part in ongoing training and development to build technical knowledge and skills.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in or recently started an electrical apprenticeship (or equivalent training).
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to read or learn to interpret electrical drawings and panel layouts.
- Full clean driving licence.
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to develop a career in the electrical trade.
