We are currently seeking a dedicated Stores Operative to join a well-established company specializing in mechanical and electrical engineering solutions. This is a key role within a fast-paced warehouse environment that supports both manufacturing and distribution operations.
As a Stores Operative, you’ll be responsible for supporting day-to-day warehouse activities – from goods receipt and stock management to order picking and dispatch – ensuring the efficient and safe flow of materials to support ongoing projects and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and equipment.
- Pick, pack, and dispatch items accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date stock records using internal stock control systems.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety standards.
- Liaise with other departments to support smooth operational flow.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or stores role, ideally within the engineering or manufacturing industry.
- Basic IT proficiency and familiarity with stock control or inventory management systems.
- Forklift license and experience operating warehouse equipment (preferred but not essential).
- Valid Manual Handling certificate.
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong attention to detail.
