Software Engineer 3-5 Years of Experience

Market Rates – DOE

Large Enterprise Client, Complex Environment

Our client is responsible for the development of solutions including satellite data optimisation and inter provider roaming based on a virtualised network architecture. They have ongoing research projects, part funded by the European Space Agency, EC H2020 and SFI-CONNECT defining future architectures and technologies for satellite networks.

Daily Checks: 

As a software engineer working in an agile development environment you will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Participate in requirements/story definition
  • Work with other engineers on solution designs
  • Develop and unit test software modules
  • Participate in system integration
  • Assist system test in test design, automation and execution
  • Debug code
  • Document your software design
  • Assist technical publications team in creating user documentation
  • Assist customer support teams
  • Mentor new hires as part of a growing organisation

What You Will Need: 

As a base line, you will have:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience of C/C++ software development
  • Object Oriented analysis and design
  • Scripting experience (Python, PHP, BASH etc.)
  • Developed software in a Linux environment
  • Linux process architecture and Inter Process Communications
  • Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, IP Routing etc.)
  • Experience in virtualization

Experience using network analysis tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark

Experience of the following would be advantageous:

  • 3GPP/LTE networks and protocols
  • DPDK and VPP
  • Jenkins build environment and Jira issue tracking
  • SDN, NFV, MEC
