We are presently recruting for a Quality Control Engineer for our clients on the Cork / Kerry border. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving quality standards across the manufacturing operation. The role requires a practical, hands-on approach, strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions. This is an on site position, within easy reach of Killarney, Macroom and Millstreet.
Job Duties
- Identify quality issues, establish root causes and implement effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Conduct inspections, testing and quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- Identify, investigate and resolve quality and production issues using structured root-cause analysis.
- Lead continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.
- Support and lead ISO quality management activities, ensuring procedures and standards are maintained.
- Apply the COPIS methodology to improve processes, quality and customer outcomes.
- Manage supplier returns, supplier non-conformances and corrective actions through to resolution.
- Produce regular quality reports and performance analysis for the Plant Manager.
- Work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and Suppliers.
- Analyse quality data and identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Quality Control or Quality Engineering position.
- Strong knowledge of sheet-metal manufacturing and processes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data analysis and reporting.
- Experience working with ISO quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
