Cruise Ship Nurse
Location: At Sea – International Cruise Ship
Contract: 4 months (17 weeks) or 6 months (30 weeks)
We are currently recruiting experienced Nurses to join the medical team onboard an international cruise ship.
This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with a strong Emergency Room, ICU or acute care background who are interested in working in a unique, international environment.
The Role
As a Cruise Ship Nurse, you will provide medical and nursing care to passengers and crew members, supporting the onboard Doctors and wider medical team.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing nursing care during minor and major emergency situations
- Triaging patients and recognising life-threatening conditions
- Assisting Doctors with patient care and emergency situations
- Responding to medical emergencies and Code Blue/resuscitation situations
- ECG monitoring and interpretation
- Maintaining accurate medical records and reports
- Assisting with the management of the onboard medical facility and medical supplies
- Participating in emergency and lifeboat drills
- Providing care to crew members who become ill or injured onboard
- Working as part of an international, multicultural medical team
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in:
- Emergency Room / Emergency Department
- Intensive Care Unit
- Cardiac ICU / Critical Care
- Surgical ICU
- Trauma / acute care
- Relevant nursing qualification from an accredited nursing school or university
- Active nursing registration/licence in your country of practice
- Current, in-date BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
- Certifications must be completed through onsite/in-person training
- Online-only certifications are not accepted
- Recognised providers such as American, European, British Heart Association, Red Cross, Code Blue etc. are accepted
- Strong resuscitation / Code Blue experience
- Good knowledge of ECG interpretation
- Experience working in a tertiary or large hospital environment
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Ability to participate in emergency procedures and drills and meet the physical requirements of working onboard
Cruise ship experience is an advantage but is not essential.
International Applicants

Contract & Salary
- 4-month contract: 17 weeks
- 6-month contract: 30 weeks
- Salary paid monthly
