We are presently recruiting for A GIS and CAD Technician for our clients in Macroom, County Cork. You will work with both CAD and GIZ Software on a daily basis and work on Preparing engineering, planning and site layout drawings for renewable energy projects and aid in the preparation of design drawings and as-built drawings of new infrastructure specifications. This is a full-time position, based in Macroom, County Cork.
- Collect, digitize, and verify geospatial data for accurate mapping and analysis.
- Maintain and update GIS databases to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Generate maps, reports, and visualizations to support various projects and departments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address geospatial data needs and challenges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve GIS-related issues, offering technical support as required.
- Assist in the maintenance and updates of GIS software and tools.
- Apply cartographic principles to create visually informative and effective maps.
- Ensure compliance with data standards and security protocols in all GIS activities.
- Communicate effectively within the team and with stakeholders to convey insights from geospatial data.
- Contribute to the documentation of GIS processes and workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and spatial databases.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications and experience:
- Proficiency in GIS and CAD software
- 2+ years’ experience
- Detail-oriented approach to data collection, entry, and analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address GIS-related challenges effectively.
- Degree or Diploma holder in a relevant topic.
