We are seeking a Bookkeeper to for our clients in Killarney, County Kerry. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, will support the financial operations of a diverse group of companies across multiple sectors. This role is ideally suited to a candidate currently working within an accountancy practice who is looking to transition into an industry environment. The position offers the opportunity to become embedded within a business, gain exposure to commercial decision-making, and take ownership of financial processes across a number of group entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records across multiple companies within the group.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payment of creditors & debtor balances.
- Perform bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset registers where required.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with Revenue requirements.
- Assist with statutory compliance obligations and maintain supporting documentation.
- Prepare and maintain company records, including support for dormant company accounts where applicable.
- Ensure all accounting records are maintained accurately and are audit-ready.
- Prepare journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to support finance activities across multiple group companies.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
- Support finance-related projects and process improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years Previous bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Experience preparing company and dormant accounts.
- Proven experience completing VAT returns and account reconciliations.
- Accounting Technician (ATI), IATI, AAT, or equivalent qualification.
