Application Support Engineer – Linux

Salary: DOE Location: Kerry Tralee Experience: 3+ years Job no: DM0711Job Status: Full-Time

Our client in Tralee, Co. Kerry is looking for a smart, driven and proactive individual to join their team to support critical global applications, running on Linux, UNIX and Windows operating systems. The successful candidate will provide support for a wide variety of FinTech applications and technologies, primarily in the release and production environment. You will be responsible for implementing automation solutions and preventative measures for repetitive tasks and issues. Occasional travel to the USA is required for this role along with weekend and on call support required on a rotational basis.

Desirable Skills for the role:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar position with a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of Linux operating systems (Red Hat or AIX)
  • Experience in supporting ANSIBLE product, OpenShift Cluster.
  • Experience installing and configuration of the application software.
  • Experience in recovering applications in DR is a plus.
  • Experience using Oracle SQL.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as: Shell, Python, Perl, JavaScript, PowerShell
  • Experience using automation tools or writing automation scripts.

  • Google Apigee Suite, OneSpan RA/OAS, Splunk, EG, IR360, IBM RFT, GreenHAt. UrbanCode, Atlassian Suite.

The salary for this role is dependent on experience (in line with market rates) and offers a number of benefits to be discussed at interview stage.
